Reasons You May Need This Course

✅ 2-Point Credit (Voluntary Enrollment)

If you have 2 to 11 points on your driving record, you may voluntarily complete this course to earn a 2-point credit.

  • The credit allows you to accumulate up to 14 points before your license is suspended.
  • The credit remains valid for three years.
  • You may take the course for this purpose up to five times in your lifetime.

Court-Ordered Requirement

Some drivers are required by a judge or court order to complete the adult remedial course.

  • In this case, no point credit is awarded.
  • Upon completion, your certificate will be submitted to the court as proof of compliance.

Juvenile Suspension (Age 19 or Older)

If you are 19 years or older and your driver’s license was suspended due to a juvenile traffic violation before age 18, this course is required for reinstatement.

Suspension for OVI/OVUAC (Under 21)

If your license was suspended for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OVI) or Operating a Vehicle After Underage Consumption (OVUAC), this course fulfills one of the requirements needed for license reinstatement.

12-Point Suspension

If your license was suspended due to accumulating 12 or more points, you must complete the Adult Remedial Course before being eligible to have your driver’s license reinstated.

After completing this program, your certificate is submitted to the Ohio BMV as part of the reinstatement process.
